Fish that can tolerate the cold water environment.
Fin nippers are strictly not allowed to keep with goldfish
Fish should be peaceful & shouldn't show territorial nature much.
The size of the fish should not be too small for goldfish.
They are probably the best tank mate of goldfish. They are peaceful & act like plecos in fish tanks.
They thrive in cold water like goldfish. Moreover, they scavenge the tank well.
Corydoras helps to clean tank by eating excess foods at the bottom of the tank.
They are schooling fish & stay at the bottom of the tank mainly.
Bloodfin tetras are also beginner-friendly, hardy & a good choice for goldfish as a tank mate.
However, a minimum of 5 bloodfins should be kept together to reduce fin nipping activity.
Giant danios are fast movers & a peaceful species for a community tank.
They grows up to 4 inches. It means a big tank is required to keep goldfish & giant danios together.
White mountain minnows are good option for fancy goldfish. They are cold water species too like goldfish.
Despite being a small fish, they are superfast & unlikely to be eaten by goldfish.
Black skirt tetras are very hardy & fast enough to ran away from goldfish if needed.
The size of black skirt tetra is around 3" that is unlikely to be eaten by goldfish.
Rosy barb is a very good choice for goldfish. An orangish colorful hue of rosy barb helps to compliment each other in a tank.
Try to keep at least 5 rosy barbs. Otherwise, it will show territorial nature.
Plecos are the little bit controversial as a tank mates of goldfish. However, bristlenose plecos are the suitable becasue of their small size.
They are the great algae eaters. If they are fed well then goldfish & bristlenose can be tank mates.
The shell of apple snails comes with various extraordinary color shades. It makes the tank extra colorful.
For a planted tank apple snails are the suitable option to stay with goldfish.
Platies are the great choice for goldfish just because they are peaceful species. They are very easy to take care of.
They are not as small as guppy & not as big as plecos. So they are the right choice.
Rubberlip Plecos are very placid, non-aggressive fish. Their size is smaller than common pleco too.
To keep rubberlip pleco & goldfish happy together a enough amount of algae should be there in the tank.
