A Minimum 20-gallon or 75 liter water is required to start a small guppy pond. This can be placed inside or outside the room.

A suitable rounded or rectangular container or tub is required to start a guppy pond. Try to arrange a tub as large as you can. IBC containers are the most suitable for it.

The temperature of a guppy pond should be 74-82 F (22-28 C). The temperature should not be less than 21 C anyhow. Guppies can't survive in cold water. May is the ideal month to set up guppy ponds.

Tap water can be used for guppy ponds after the dechlorination process. It is preferred to add 1/4th of pond water to it. It will help to establish guppy ponds quickly. Ammonia & nitrite should be zero.
