The diet of goldfish & koi is almost the same so they can be kept together in pond
Fancy goldfish are small compared to koi. So they are incompatible with koi.
Pleco Fish is peaceful species & probably the best suitable pond mate for koi.
They help to keep clean the pond by eating algae.
To control the aquatic vegetation in koi ponds, having grass carp is the most suitable option.
They are good to live with koi & keep a koi pond clean
Tilapia can live with koi without any problem. However, tilapia is edible whereas koi is not.
It is better to start with a 1000-1200 gallon pond to keep both of these fish.
Sometimes koi ponds are attacked by snails. Having Redear Sunfish is a good option to prevent it.
The pond water should be clean enough to keep this species healthy & happy.
Golden Orfe is very compatible with koi. It is hard to differentiate between golden koi & golden orfe.
They are river fish so they need freshwater. Minimum 3 orfe should be kept together.
Barbel fish are bottom feeders. Both of these fish should be adults to keep them together in ponds.
A good flow of water is required to keep both of these healthy.
